Lasang Pinoy, Sundays : from ROOTs to ENDs

this is my entry for this week's la.pi.s. theme... i was just blog hopping since the baby's sleeping, so i had the chance. i've been out for quite some time now and although i'm not totally back, i hope to be really back into cooking and baking soon... i miss it already... i already can start with light activities now but i still had to take it easy, for full recovery.

i admit, i don't have agreen thumb. as much as i wanted to grow plants, they always die. on the other hand, kim has a green thumb and these are the proof.

this is our tanglad (lemongrass) plant kim planted late last year and now the pot is already full and some of the leaves are turning brown already but we were able to use it for our food.

this is our kangkong plant. kim planted this just early this year. we wanted to frequently eat kangkong since he said that it's full of nutritions and affordable but we would like the organically grown one. we tried planting an entire rectagular pot but these are the ones that only grew, the rest died. still, kim planted more. he took out the ones that died and replaced it with new stalks and fortunately it all grew. we've been able to harvest quite a bunch from it and used it in our dishes like adobong kangkong, kangkong salad, and fish tinola.

we are still planning to plant more vegetables like tomato and string beans. i even requested for a malunggay plant but it's quite difficult here in our house since we only have pots and i think malunggay plants requires a larger area of soil. i believe i will have malunggay plant in the future, i'll just think of some other ways to grow it here.

hoping you'll have a happy week... =))
